- Open a browser
- Go to: https://account.microsoft.com/services
- Sign in with that account.
What you will likely see:
- No active OneDrive or Microsoft 365 license
- License exists but not assigned to this account
Either state causes your crash.
Use a proper Microsoft account
Create a new Microsoft account (Outlook.com / Hotmail.com), then:
- Activate Microsoft 365 Basic on that account
- Sign into OneDrive desktop with it
If you paid for Microsoft 365 Basic:
- Cancel it on the Comcast-linked account
- Re-purchase it while logged into the correct Microsoft account
- Reinstall OneDrive
- Sign in
Licenses do not migrate cleanly between consumer identities.
