2024-06-26T06:53:57+00:00 Hello Michał,
* I am a Microsoft user like you, providing solutions to community members; I am NOT a Microsoft employee.
There are a couple of reasons why this might be happening: Permissions: Your company administrators may have restricted team creation privileges. In Microsoft Teams, only users with the "Create team" permission can create teams. Azure AD settings: If your company uses Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), settings there may also prevent team creation. In Azure AD, the settings "Users can create security groups" and "Users can create Microsoft 365 groups" need to be enabled for users to create teams.
Here are the steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue: Contact IT Admin: The best course of action is to contact your IT administrator to see if they have restricted team creation, or if there's an issue with the Azure AD settings. They can check the permissions and settings and make any necessary changes. Create a request with Microsoft support: If you're still having trouble after contacting your IT admin, you can create a service request with Microsoft support https://support.microsoft.com/.
Hope this helps.

2024-06-26T13:35:18+00:00 Hello,
Here are some potential reasons why you and your colleagues can't create teams on desktop and online, but can on mobile:
- Limited Permissions within Global Security Group: Even though you belong to a global security group, it's possible this group doesn't have the "Create team" permission enabled within Microsoft Teams settings. This permission needs to be specifically assigned for users to create teams.
- Policy Differences between Apps: Microsoft might have different policies in place for the desktop/online apps compared to the mobile app. The mobile app might have a wider default permission set that allows team creation.
- Client App Glitch (Desktop/Online): There's a chance of a temporary glitch with the Teams desktop or online app that's preventing the "Create team" option from functioning properly.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue further:
- Contact IT Admin: The best course of action is to reach out to your IT administrator. They can check the permissions assigned to your global security group and ensure "Create team" is enabled for users who need it.
- Check for Updates: Make sure everyone in your company is running the latest version of the Teams desktop app. Outdated versions might have bugs that prevent certain functionalities.
- Web App Test: While the online experience might seem similar to the desktop app, try creating a team through the Teams web app (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/log-in) to see if the issue persists there as well. Report the Issue:
If none of these steps resolve the problem, I'm sorry but you might need to reach Microsoft Support directly (https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/).
